Turnstyles May half-term football camp in London

With the summer interlude right around the corner, Turnstyles will be hosting our May half-term football camp in Enfield for those children off of school between 28 May and 1 June!

Running from 9am to 3pm, our camps will feature day-long training for students aged 6 to 14.

So we invite any and all students from that age range regardless of their skill level or ability to come join us for a week of football fun!

We hope we hope that the start of summer brings great weather.

If the nice weather permits us, we will be hosting our camps outdoor on the 3G pitch at the Enfield Lower Grammar School, EN1 3EX.

But if does get nasty outside, we will move indoors to the sports hall of the Enfield Upper Grammar School at EN2 6LN.

The week-long Turnstyles Football Camp will cost £12 per day or £60 for the entire week and our campers will need to come in athletic clothing and with fluids, packed lunches, healthy snacks, and positive attitude!

In return, our students will receive a fun day full of football training and matches.

While our professional coaches are strongly dedicated toward the development of our campers, they are equally as focused on ensuring that they have a great time whilst doing so.

But safety, of course, is our biggest priority.

We have partnered with a mobile administration and safeguarding app, TAGPAY, to ensure that we can account for and cater to the needs of all of our campers!

Here’s how our camp days are generally structured:

               9am-9:15am — Registration/Check-In

               9:15am-9:30am — Introduction/Daily Brief

               9:30am-10:30am — First Training Session

               10:30am-10:45am — Snack Break

               10:45am-12:15pm — Second Training Session

The importance of enrolling young children in sport

Team sports are so important and beneficial for children to experience, especially early on in their lives.

Not only do they provide children with a platform for physical activity, but they can also teach kids an array of life skills too.

Just to mention a few, team-based sports help teach important lessons such as teamwork, integrity, and perseverance.

They are also incredibly important in giving young children the opportunity to socialize with each other.

Every single day, I use the very same life skills I’ve learned playing team sports, plus I’ve met so many great people along the way!

One of the biggest questions many parents have is at what age should they enrol their child into a sport.

At Turnstyles, we truly believe that the younger children get involved in sports, the better off they’ll be.

And that’s why we offer samba futsal and football classes for kids across London aged 3-years-old to 6 and a half!

Our samba futsal and football classes and camps focus on introducing young children to the game of football through lessons that are heavily focused on ball control and touch.

These two skills are integral to the game of football and will be incredibly valuable in not only allowing our players to begin developing their football ability, while also helping teach them the coordination that many young children lack at that early age.

Not only will your children learn important physical skills in our children’s samba futsal and football classes and camps, but they will also provide them the opportunity to learn life and social skills that will be invaluable to them down the line.

A major concern about starting off children so young in sports is the burnout.

Many kids simply do not like the hyper-competitive culture that sports can create, and that’s okay.

At Turnstyles, we do our best to make our classes and camps as fun as possible for all children.

One of the biggest aspects of our samba futsal and football classes is the incorporation of the samba music, which is part of the core make up of Turnstyles Football Academy.

The use of samba music helps create an upbeat, positive, and entertaining environment in which most every child could embrace.

While we do want to develop our player’s athletic, life, and social skills, we want to do so in an environment that is fun and inclusive to all, regardless of their feeling towards sport.

That’s why any child, regardless of skill level, is invited to come join us for our samba futsal and football classes and camps in London!

If this still hasn’t peaked your interest, come join us for free trial at our football academy in Enfield or our academy in Wandsworth, and our dedicated coaches will help change your mind.

A letter from a superstar at our football academy in Enfield

Hi Guys,

My name is Lorenzo, I am 10-years-old. I am from Enfield in North London.

I go to St George’s Primary School. My favourite subject is Maths because I love to count and solve equations. I am from England but my parents are from Turin in Italy.

My family support Juventus because that is where we are from but in England, I support Tottenham Hotspur because all my friends support them. Harry Kane is my favourite player because he is a striker like me and scores a lot of goals.

Most of my time I play football because I love football. I play for a football team called Turnstyles Football Academy, which is based at the Enfield Grammar School. Turnstyles is the closest football academy near me and it is the best football club in London because I get to play with all of my friends!

My football coach is called Nathan and he teaches me every week how to become a better footballer and a person.

Every morning I get up at 7am, brush my teeth and then have my breakfast. My favourite breakfast is porridge, with a banana and little bit of honey with orange juice. My coach told me that this will make me stronger, healthier and be ready for the day.

After school, I go home and I watch the football channel with my dad. I then finish my homework and once I have finished I go straight to my room and put on my Turnstyles kit and play football in my back garden.

Every Friday night I get my Turnstyles Kit and lay it all out next to my bed so when I wake up I can rush into putting on my kit straight away.

I always want to wear my kit in bed the night before because I love the club so much and just want to play with my friends and learn to get better but my mum doesn’t let me so I leave it on the side all ready for the morning!

On Saturday I train at 10am until 12pm but I wish it is all day because I love to learn and play football with my team. After training sessions, my coach speaks to us about tomorrow’s game and tell us what we should do to prepare for it. What he tells us is to drink a bottle of water for the day and go to bed early so we are up and ready for the game.

We always get to the game at least half hour early so we can warm up properly and be ready for kick-off. We always are positive after the match regardless what the score is because we learn on how to fix our mistakes and try and fix it for our sessions.

I find weekend football the best because I express myself as a footballer and be with my friends at Turnstyles.
